Cristiano Ronaldo's son scores first Portugal goals aged just 14
The youngster follows in his fatherâ??s footsteps by scoring for his country
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has scored his first two goals for Portugal, aged just 14, following in the footsteps of his father.
Last week, Ronaldo Jr earned his first international call-up, and his father was beaming with pride on his social media accounts.
Fast forward a matter of days and Junior, who is known as Cristianinho, is celebrating opening his international account.
The goal came against Croatia, where the tournament is being held.
Just 12 minutes into the game, Cristianinho can be seen crashing the ball into the net, clipping the woodwork on the way, despite the difficult angle.
The finish had an air of his father, hitting the ball cleanly with his laces.
In homage to his legendary father, who is still adding to his record tally of 136 international goals, the 14-year-old finished with his dad’s iconic ‘SIU’ celebration.

Later on in the game, the youngster would restore his side’s lead, with a poacher’s effort into an empty net from his head - another iconic attribute of his father’s.
Junior can also be seen sporting the number seven shirt, the same his father wears for his country and during his spells at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
His brace comes a matter of days after he made his international debut, and his father took to social media to express his pride.
On Instagram, Ronaldo wrote: “Congratulations on your debut by @selecaoportugal, son. Very proud of you!”

Junior moved from Manchester United to Al-Nassr along with his father at the start of 2023, after Ronaldo fell out with former boss Erik Ten Hag. The youngster also represented Juventus at youth level.
The 14-year-old has since made a distinct impression in the Saudi Arabian youth division, forcing a first national team call-up.
In 2022, Ronaldo revealed: “My son says to me: ‘Dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you! But I will never pressure him - he will do what he wants.

It has been no secret that Ronaldo has wanted to play alongside is son, and his exploits on the international stage this week suggest it could be possible.
It also doesn’t seem as though Ronaldo will be looking to retire any time soon, either, with the 40-year-old persistent on achieving what no-one before him has in the game: 1,000 senior career goals.
He currently sits on 934 and has scored 72 times in 74 games for Al-Nassr, so the dream seems entirely plausible.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores, was also seen supporting Cristianinho in training, prior to his debut against Japan.
