Olly Murs has been forced to cancel more tour dates after walking off stage during a performance in Glasgow on Thursday night and cancelling his Manchester show on Friday night
Olly Murs has had to cancel further tour dates after unexpectedly leaving the stage during a performance in Glasgow. The singer was only six songs into his set when he shocked fans by announcing that he couldn't continue.
After performing his hit, Kiss Me Like You Mean It, Olly, 41, confessed to the crowd that his voice had given out and he couldn't deliver the show they deserved. "I can't go on," he admitted, promising to make amends and return. The pop star, who was scheduled to perform in Manchester tonight, Friday 23 May, has confirmed that the concert at the AO Arena will not be taking place.

"Never expected to be writing this today," a downcast Olly shared on Instagram. He continued: "To everyone in Glasgow last night, I want to start by saying sorry. What happened last night has never happened to me before and I'm truly gutted and upset about it. In 15 years I've never had to leave the stage after 30 minutes into a show, but my voice was failing me.
"I was panicking and worrying about what to do which left me no choice but to address it. The thought of upsetting people and letting you, the fans, down has hit me hard today. Speaking in front of you last night and seeing people upset was hard to see but from the bottom of my heart I'm sorry but I had to put my health first", reports the Mirror.
He continued: "To everyone in Manchester and Birmingham I'm deeply sorry but I am unfortunately going to have to cancel my shows there this weekend. I have contracted a respiratory infection and have been instructed to go on a strict 48-hour voice rest by the doctor to ensure no further damage to my vocal cords."
He continued with reassurance for his fans, "I've been having the best time on this tour and I'm so sorry to let my fans down, I'm hoping to be fighting fit in a few days to finish this amazing 15 year celebratory tour with a bang."
Olly explained that affected ticket holders will get refunds directly from the point of purchase.

The singer's update quickly received thousands of likes and supportive messages from fellow artists and fans. Roy Stride of Scouting For Girls said: "Ah mate. Get well soon buddy. Worst feeling in the world - nothing you can do." Blue's Duncan James commented: "Get well bro. See u in London" and Alexandra Burke commented: "Get well soon lovely x."
On Friday night after walking off stage and cancelling the show, Olly shared his heartfelt apologies with fans on social media, saying: "Glasgow, I am so sorry tonight. So sorry that I had to walk off after six songs and cancel the show."
Explaining that it was a first in his 15-year career, he explained: "I have never done this in 15 years. Most of the time, as singers, you can kind of get through it if your voice isn't 100 percent but I walked out tonight thinking my voice was great. I maybe felt a little bit rundown but I didn't think I couldn't do the show because I wouldn't have come out there otherwise. So, to walk off after six songs, I am so sorry. 15 years I have never done this."
He continued expressing his regret: "As you can hear from my voice, I was sounding rubbish and it is unfair for you guys to spent all that money to come and see me. You deserve the best show and me being at my best. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart."
