Prince George's helpful comments to younger brother Louis as Kate chimes in
As the Royal Family gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace today to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a lip reader has revealed the touching conversation between Prince George and Louis
A lip reader has revealed a charming exchange between Prince George and his mother, Princess Kate, alongside his younger sibling, Prince Louis, during today's RAF flypast at Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Family gathered on the balcony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, celebrating the conclusion of World War II in Europe in 1945.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were present, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
As the celebration commenced, the young princes, captivated by the thunderous planes, engaged in conversation, observed by their attentive mother. Lip reader Jeremy Freeman has since disclosed the endearing dialogue they shared.
As the flypast got underway, the young princes could be seen chatting to each other (Image: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)While observing a plane soaring above, Kate prompted: "Watch this one", eliciting an excited response from Louis who exclaimed: "Ooh, that's cool". George then took on the role of big brother, pointing out the aircraft to Louis and saying: "That's a Globemaster (pointing to the plane)."
Louis showed his delight with a "that was great", and it seems his father, Prince William, agreed, remarking to Kate that it was: ".....so great....."
George continued to show his enthusiasm for the aviation display, urging his mother to "Check that one", to which Kate warmly responded: "Oh, there it is." The Sky News footage captured the royals as they admired what seemed to be a C-17 Globemaster.
The VE commemoration event, which saw a flypast from RAF Brize Norton including a Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, Typhoon jets and The Red Arrows, was notably absent of any Royal Family members who waved from the balcony in 1945. This marked the first such occasion since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
During the ceremony, King Charles III saluted as personnel from nations including France, the US, and Germany joined 1,300 members of the British Armed forces in a march to the palace.
Actor Timothy Spall, known for his roles in the Harry Potter franchise, The Last Samurai and Sweeney Todd, read sections of Sir Winston Churchill's speech from May 8, 1945.

Tomorrow, the Queen is scheduled to view a display of ceramic poppies at The Tower of London.
On VE day itself, the King, Queen and other royals are expected to attend a Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey and a concert from Horse Guards Parade to conclude the commemorations.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said in an open letter to veterans: "VE Day is a chance to acknowledge, again, that our debt to those who achieved it can never fully be repaid."
