Former Traitors star Paul Gorton has tantalised fans with a sneak preview of what to expect from the celeb-packed version of the BBC’s massively popular game of deceit. He has also shared some key words of wisdom for the stars in the upcoming Celebrity Traitors series, whose cast was unveiled on Tuesday night.

Paul, 37, is fresh from his stint in last year’s second series of the acclaimed BBC series, where he played one of the duplicitous Traitors. In that series, he quickly became notorious as a reality TV "villain" in the eyes of viewers.

Despite his cunning tactics, his journey ended when his fellow competitors ousted him well past the halfway point.

Stars are now waiting to see who will follow in Paul's footsteps on the Celebrity Traitors, which will be released later this year. On the glitzy BAFTA Television Awards' red carpet on Sunday, Paul shared some insider secrets and offered some cutthroat advice for the celebs.

Imparting his strategy insights, he told the Mirror: "You've gotta be cut-throat, you've gotta be brutal and you've got to stab people in the back."

At the prestigious event in London, he added: "They're like the best three things you can do, right? And then you'll either win or you'll have a lot of fun."

When quizzed about potential shifts in dynamics due to the celebrity variable, Paul confided that he’s anticipating an unconventional display from the star-studded squad, diverging from their TV personas. Furthermore, he's crossing his fingers for the programme to erupt into "absolute chaos".

During the candid chat, Paul hinted at what viewers can expect from the forthcoming series of the Traitors, remarking: "I think you're gonna see the people that you're used to seeing on tele all the time doing like really naughty, bad things. Because we always see them in like a nice guise, whereas you can't be nice in the Traitors - whether you're a Faithful or whether you're a Traitor."

He added: "Whatever happens, I hope it's absolute chaos!"

The BBC unveiled the cast for the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors on Tuesday night.

The line-up is studded with well-known faces including comedian Alan Carr, singer-songwriter Cat Burns, actor Celia Imrie, singer Charlotte Church, presenter Clare Balding, filmmaker David Olusoga, and former rugby union player Joe Marler.

The cast also includes comedian Joe Wilkinson, TV heavyweights Jonathan Ross and Kate Garraway, and comedian Lucy Beaumont. Actors Mark Bonnar and Nick Mohammed also appear.

Joining the mix are content creator Niko Omilana, singer Paloma Faith, and actor Ruth Codd. Rounding out the roster are presenter Stephen Fry, EastEnders favourite Tameka Empson and Olympic champion Tom Daley.

BBC One and BBC iPlayer are set to host the nine-part spectacle of Celebrity Traitors this autumn, as the famed participants vie for a chance to win up to £100,000 for their selected charity.

Presenter Claudia Winkleman said: "We're incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I'd love to say we'll take it easy on them and they'll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie."
