Corrie's Daisy Midgeley quits cobbles after four years in surprise money twist
She was seen saying farewell to Weatherfield in the latest episode of the ITV soap, but not without some parting gifts
Coronation Street fans have now seen that Daisy Midgeley has officially said goodbye to Weatherfield - and she didn’t leave without one last scheme.
It’s been just over four years since the character, played by Charlotte Jordan, first arrived on-screen in the ITV soap as the step-daughter of Jenny Connor.
‌
She came to stay at the Rovers Return pub, reuniting with Jenny some years after they last saw each other, but it didn’t take long for Daisy to ruffle feathers and create enemies on the Street.
‌
But it was earlier this week that the Rovers barmaid and co-owner shared her plan to quit the Street after her latest whirlwind of drama - including catfishing, tangled romances and a tragic loss after a secret pregnancy.
And her exit didn’t come without one last twist of the knife, leaving Jenny devastated in her wake. As Corrie fans know, Daisy was secretly in cahoots with her mother, Christina Boyd, to get their hands on a huge sum of cash, £60,000 no less, which had headed Jenny’s way after her ex-husband, Daisy’s dad, made an investment in her name a number of years earlier.
The pair resorted to catfishing under the guise of ‘Dom’. But when the man himself appeared, Daisy was thrown. She was also unaware that Christina plans to split the money with 'Dom', as she was actually seeing Jenny's dodgy new fake suitor.

During Wednesday's (April 30) episode of Corrie, Daisy was left shocked when she heard Christina talking to Dom in the Rovers' back yard, realising that her mum was going to double-cross her and set about her own plan to make sure that didn't happen.
It wasn't long before the drama ensued and Daisy let her mum take the rap for the catfishing. Daisy found Jenny in a panic and she confirmed that the money transfer had been blocked due to a suspicious account. Daisy then dropped a hint about Dom and Christina, and it was enough for Jenny to work out that she had been being playing all along.
‌
Jenny took to the mic in the pub, during Julie Carp's bingo fundraiser, and confronted Christina in front of everyone. As DC Kit Green approached, Christina denied Jenny’s accusations. She was eventually arrested by Kit, but continued with her lies, saying she had absolutely nothing to do with Dom or the scam.
But all was not quite over. During the last visit to Weatherfield of the week on Friday (May 2) Daisy was seen packing up, with Jenny hoping of a change of heart. "It's only Brighton, to start with anyway," she said. She went on to have a heart-to-heart with Ryan Connor, in which she apologised 'for everything'.
Daisy's biggest heartbreak, however, was when she went to say goodbye to Bertie Osbourne, and to clear the air with her angry former fiancé, Daniel Osbourne. Jenny once again tried to change her mind, but Daisy's decision was made.
‌
However, shortly after, the penny dropped for both Jenny and Christina as it became clear Daisy had run off with the money Jenny thought she was investing in catfisher 'Dom'.
As she jumped into her taxi, the car started to pull away down the cobbles when Daniel emerged. She stopped and gave him time to talk, but with her mum, Christina Boyd, on her case, she made a hasty exit.
‌
But she tried to make amends, leaving letters for a number of people on the Street with money and gifts for each of them, including Kit Green, who she left with a drink on her, and Daniel, who was being sent to Disneyland Paris with Bertie.
However, Jenny was dealt one last blow as Daisy left her nothing, just a goodbye note. Then, in one last twist, it was revealed that it wasn’t Brighton she was heading for.
She was seen checking her flights from Manchester to Bali, before asking the taxi driver to 'turn up' M People’s popular track, Movin' On Up, as she put on her sunglasses and headed for pastures new.

Charlotte, who previously appeared in Netflix series Free Rein, confirmed she was leaving the show in January "to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities".
Her departure comes after Luca Toolan's exit as Mason Radcliffe and Paddy Bever's departure as Max Turner, while Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) and Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) also announced they were leaving the programme earlier this year.
