The Met Gala 2025 is rumored to be ramping up security measures, and it's not because of any high-fashion hijinks. It is being reported that Anna Wintour has demanded extra guards for the event, thanks to concerns over Kanye West potentially crashing the prestigious soiree uninvited.

A source close to the gala dished to RadarOnline, saying: "Anna is not messing around. There's a full protocol in place if Kanye is spotted anywhere near the carpet."

This intense response follows a troubling move by Kanye, who posted a video online showing an outfit strongly resembling Ku Klux Klan garb, labelled as his choice for the grand event.

The sketch, uploaded to his X account, depicted a figure with a bare chest, boots, gloves, and a disturbingly pointy hood. Kanye shockingly captioned this image "MET BALL 2025," resulting in a barrage of criticism.

Fans were quick to denounce the design, comparing it to the similar look Kanye donned during a chat with DJ Akademiks", reports the Express.

Immediate backlash ensued, presumably causing those behind the Met Gala to worry about Kanye attempting any show-stealing antics on their biggest night.

One top fashion security consultant ominously cautioned: "It's not just about the outfit – it's about the chaos he brings. After what happened at the Grammys, no one's taking chances."

Other reports in the States indicate that Kim Kardashian is feeling tense about possibly bumping into her ex-husband, Kanye, at the event.

A source connected to the reality star and Skims founder told RadarOnline: "Kim is focused on her look and her brand. The last thing she wants is Kanye pulling a stunt and hijacking the night."

Although there's no official ban, rumours are that Kanye's potential appearance is causing quite the stir behind the scenes. Insiders indicate Wintour insists on being prepared for any surprises, should the rapper turn up unannounced.

One source claimed: "If he shows up, there's a plan. Anna has made it clear – no drama on her carpet."

The much-awaited Met Gala, of which Wintour is a perennial co-chair, is celebrated for its lavish ensembles and A-list exclusivity.

The soirée, set in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, sees a gathering of around 450 elite attendees, spanning Tinseltown celebrities to influencers in politics.

This year promises to be another dazzling exhibit with the theme Superfine - Tailoring Black Style, and the stellar cast co-chairing beside Wintour in 2025 includes Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams.
