Marcus Rashford sends indirect Ruben Amorim message amid Man United exit talks
Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is preparing for pre-season and a potential exit from Old Trafford during the summer transfer window
Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim that his attitude towards training is where it needs to be as uncertainty surrounding his future continues.
Rashford was dropped from the squad that won the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium in December after Amorim was unimpressed by what he saw in training. Alejandro Garnacho suffered this same treatment but while he returned for the next fixture, his teammate was nowhere to be seen.
‌
In fact, Rashford would not play another minute for Amorim from that moment onwards as he was eventually loaned to Unai Emery's Aston Villa in the January transfer window. When asked why Rashford was being left out, the Portuguese head coach alluded to the idea that the winger was not performing to the required standards during training.
‌
MEN Sport understands that Rashford remains one of the players that United want to sell permanently this summer as they see little hope for him returning to the first-team picture. His time at Aston Villa was cut short due to a season-ending injury but the 27-year-old has been putting in the effort to regain his full sharpness ahead of pre-season.
To keep himself accountable and showcase his efforts, Rashford has been taking to social media to share his progress during hot weather training camps. On Thursday night, the forward shared his gruelling schedule in a bid to perhaps share a different narrative to the one that Amorim used earlier in the year.
Between Monday, June 9 and Sunday, June 22, Rashford claims to be having just three days off where he is not training in some capacity. Nine days will see Rashford working in the gym and on the pitch while two further days will be focused solely in the gym.

He would then go on to share a video of himself completing a rope climb in sweltering conditions. While a return to United in a playing capacity is unlikely, Rashford is perhaps doing this gruelling regime to prove his fitness to La Liga giants Barcelona.
Barca have publicly stated that they would be interested in signing Rashford this summer for the right price. Villa had agreed a £40m option to buy clause in January but that is unlikely to be activated.
