Met Gala 2025: You Missed Tom Holland’s Subtle Appearance Ahead of Zendaya’s Red Carpet Arrival
Though Tom Holland didn't walk the carpet of the 2025 Met Gala with his fiancée Zendaya May 5, he joined the Euphoria star at her hotel prior to the fundraising event.

Tom Holland was there to support Zendaya for the 2025 Met Gala—he just wasn’t at the actual event.
Indeed, the Spider-Man star joined his fiancée ahead of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Benefit in New York City May 5 at The Surrey hotel as she got ready for fashion’s biggest night.
But before Zendaya walked the museum’s stairs in a custom all-white Louis Vuitton suit and matching hat (styled, of course, by her longtime stylist Law Roach), Tom was seen sporting a Canadian tuxedo and orange ball cap while leaving the New York hotel.
As for why the Marvel star didn’t join the Euphoria actress at the actual event? He has made it pretty clear he doesn’t want to steal Zendaya’s spotlight, telling Men’s Health in January he typically avoids walking a red carpet with his fiancée “because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”
In fact, despite Zendaya’s prolific status at the annual Met Gala and their years-long relationship, Tom has never attended the annual fundraiser—which this year raised more money for its “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit than it ever had before.

Although the Crowded Room star was not physically with her at the event, he was there in spirit in the form of Zendaya’s accessories. Most notably, in addition to the Bvlgari serpent brooch, gold diamond earrings and platinum diamond ring, she donned the massive engagement ring that she first debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes.

While Zendaya was certain to flash the special jewelry, Law has made sure to note that the wedding isn’t happening any time soon.
“It’s far away,” the stylist told E! News last month. “They’re both doing a bunch of movies this year and there’s a lot of premieres next year so you’ll see a lot of red carpets.
