Nicole Scherzinger Dazzles During Met Gala Debut in Sparkly White Pinstripe Dress with a Dramatic Cape

Just like her character in Broadway's Sunset Boulevard, Scherzinger, 46, shone bright on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in a two-toned gown featuring classic silhouettes from America's past.
The gown, designed by Prabal Gurung, per Scherzinger's Instagram Stories, featured a vest-look at the top and sparkly pinstripes, which carried down to the bottom of the dress. Over it, she donned a large black cape with white trimming that fell to the floor and formed a train around her.
Scherzinger kept her jewelry simple, wearing silver drop earrings, silver rings and a long silver necklace, which disappeared into her cleavage, and she styled her hair up in a classic updo to complete the look.
On her Instagram Stories, she shared some behind-the-scenes moments getting glammed up and ready for the Met Gala carpet. The Masked Singer host could even be seen mouthing the words to Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe" at one point. In another video, she shared a look at herself, Shakira and Tessa Thompson being transported to the Met Gala venue in a bus, and posing together in their looks.

In October 2024, Vogue shared details on the 2025 Met Gala, announcing that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairs for the event, alongside LeBron James as honorary chair. The gala, which is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on the first Monday in May, is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum's spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," the theme for the gala.
Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton said that the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”
The exhibit “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism,” according to a post on the museum’s Instagram.
The Met Gala's dress code for this year is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. This year's event also has a star-studded host committee that includes Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee, Usher and Angel Reese.

Scherzinger may be a newbie at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but she always knows how to give a show — literally!
The former Pussycat Dolls singer, who is currently starring in Sunset Blvd. on Broadway, wore two bold looks for opening night in October.
Her first look was a strapless black Dolce and Gabbana gown with a mermaid silhouette.
The “Buttons” singer looked like a star as she posed for photos and did press on the red carpet.
She accessorized with a Bulgari choker. Her hair was styled in a sleek pinned bun sitting high on her head with two flowy pieces framing her face.

Later in the evening, Scherzinger added a bright, multicolored Hawaiian flower crown given to her by her friend. She shared a photo of herself wearing it on Instagram, writing that it was a "little piece of home."
Her nails were dark to match not only her attire, but the theme of the Broadway show, which follows the actress as Norma Desmond, the immortal movie star haunted by dreams of a Hollywood comeback.
For her second look, the “When I Grow Up” hitmaker switched into a black archival Donna Karan Collection look from fall 2008 for the opening night’s afterparty.

Sheer paneling and delicate beading were featured throughout the dress, showing off Scherzinger's curves for her Broadway debut. She paired the number with diamond drop earrings by Briony Raymond that added another level of dazzling sparkle to her look.
She chose a pair of black pumps to tie everything together.
The actress, who earned a six-minute standing ovation on her opening night, was recently honored at April’s Time100 Gala.
“I think the journey has been my whole life. I’ve been working towards this, preparing for this, and fighting for this moment my whole life,” Scherzinger told the Associated Press.
Seemingly still channeling her character Norma, she walked the red carpet in another black gown.

This time, the Masked Singer judge wore an off-the-shoulder design with a plunging neckline, as silk material gave a draped effect.
At her mid-section, the fabric changed to sparkling sequins, clinging to her body and flowing to a small train.
For jewelry, she wore a single bangle bracelet and several rings on both hands, as well as a pair of drop earrings.

Scherzinger’s jet black hair was styled to fall behind her shoulders, giving the dress the moment it deserved.
“It’s just made my heart that much fuller,” she continued of being included on the Time100 list.
“To be able to stand here, to be able to stand here to be a part of this exceptional list with these brave pioneers — it’s been a lot of hard work, it’s exhausting, but it’s the most fulfilling thing that I’ve ever done,” Scherzinger said.
In a portrait on Instagram announcing her inclusion, she wrote, “Deeply honored to be named one of the #TIME100 most influential people. To be recognized in this way and by the legendary Patti LuPone, is a defining moment for me. Patti, to receive this from you, someone I’ve admired my whole life, I am humbled. Thank you @time and @pattilupone .♥️”
