Usher and Stevie Wonder Surprise Met Gala 2025 Guests With Electrifying Performances
Usher wowed the star-studded guest list at the 2025 Met Gala with a medley of his hits, while Stevie Wonder brought down the house with renditions of his own classics.

You donât have to call Usher to get the 2025 Met Gala jumping.
The Grammy-winning singer was a surprise performer at the annual fashion fundraiser in New York City May 5, where, according to videos from inside the gala, he delivered electrifying renditions of his hits including âYeah!,â âU Donât Have to Callâ and âOMG.â
After arriving alongside his wife Jennifer Goicoechea in a classic three-piece suit with a large black bowtie and white scarf, the 46-year-old hit the stage in not one, but two Willy Chavarria suitsâone in red and one in whiteâfor the heavily-choreographed set, where he was flanked by an entourage of equally stylish backup dancers.
Later in the evening, Stevie Wonder delivered his own performance as he serenaded the attendees with classics such as âSir Duke,â âSigned, Sealed, Delivered (Iâm Yours)â and âIsnât She Lovely.â To close out his set, the music legend invited Usher back onstage for a duet of his 1976 hit âAnother Star.â

Earlier in the evening, Stevie, 71, made his Met Gala debut on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, lighting up the red carpet in a black embroidered Sergio Hudson suit with a sparkling black cape in honor of the eventâs âSuperfine: Tailoring Black Styleâ theme.

âI'm just here,â he told E!'s Zuri Hall, âvery happy to celebrate Black designers and their ability to create consistentlyâsince the beginning of timeâstyle.â
And as he gears up to travel to London for a string of concerts, Stevie pointed out the importance of music as a way to connect with others.
âWe definitely need the lightâa lot of truthâand what has always kept us going throughout history is song,â he continued. âSo Iâm very happy to celebrate that with everyone.â
