It was a - very hot - star-studded night in the capital as the Bafta Television Awards 2025 took place with the whos who of the small screen in attedance.

They headed to London's Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the best in TV over the past year on Sunday (May 11) in a glamourous ceremony, which was also broacast across BBC One and iPlayer.

As the prestigious event began, actors and reality stars made their way down the read carpet ahead of the award ceremony officially getting underway, as they posed for the awaiting cameras under the Southbank's glistening sun.

The Bafta TV Awards 2025 saw Mr Bates Vs The Post Office compete against hit Netflix mini-series Baby Reindeer for a top prize at the Bafta TV Awards on Sunday.

Black comedy stalking drama Baby Reindeer, created by Scottish comedian Richard Gadd, has already won a slew of awards, including the best limited series Emmy.

But at the event, hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, network rival ITV was recognised with the Bafta TV special award for commissioning post office drama Mr Bates. The four-part series has renewed public attention on the subpostmasters who fought to clear their names in the wake of the Horizon scandal.

Star of the show Toby Jones was also nominated in the leading actor category for his role as lead campaigner Sir Alan Bates, while Monica Dolan was twice-nominated for her roles in Mr Bates and James Graham’s crime drama, Sherwood.
